Washington Wild Welcomes Mary Rondepierre to the Board of Directors!

Posted on Mar 18, 2019 in WA Wild Blog

The Washington Wild Team is excited to give a warm welcome to the newest member of our Board of Directors, Mary Rondepierre! We got a chance to interview Mary about her background, and what she’s looking forward to as a Washington Wild Board Member.

Washington Wild: What drew you to Washington Wild? Why do you choose to support Washington’s public lands?

Mary Rondepierre: I was drawn to Washington Wild because of the collaboration it promotes between multiple advocacy groups to protect our public lands. Each group may have a different agenda or different reason why Washington Public Land is important to them, but WA Wild knows that all those voices are more powerful together. WA Wild does a great job of facilitating that collaboration. I choose to support Washington’s Public Lands for the protection of our wildlife, for a sense of freedom, hunting, catching and foraging my own food, and for the benefit and enjoyment of my unborn children’s children.

Washington Wild: What’s your career background?

Mary Rondepierre: I’ve spent my entire career in the Outdoor Industry, either working in product or marketing. I’ve done everything from concept design, writing and producing, creative project management and most recently managing partnerships, experiences and events for Filson, a 122 year old Washington born outfitter. I’m also an active member of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers and Ducks Unlimited.

Washington Wild: What are you most excited about working on with Washington Wild?

Mary Rondepierre: Currently, I am most excited about being on the committee for Washington Wild’s annual fundraiser—Wild Night out. Bringing people from all industries and walks of life together in one night to honor public land defenders and raise funds to continue supporting these efforts is such an honor. I also look forward to growing the reach of the organization to a younger demographic.
