Washington Wild Unveils Conservation Chat Series on Defending Roadless Protection Areas

Jaidacyn Madrigal
Washington Wild is excited to host a new Conservation Chat web series hosted by Everrett native Jaidacyn Madrigal, host of the EcoGirl youtube channel. The Conservation Chat series takes an in-depth look at conservation issues that Washington Wild is leading. The premiere video focuses on Washington Wild’s efforts to defend the Roadless Rule in Alaska’s Tongass National Forest and our backyard. Upcoming videos include a deep-dive into the Skagit Headwaters, salmon habitat protection, and the Wild Olympics campaign.
In October, the Trump administration moved forward with a controversial approval to eliminate 9 million acres of the Tongass National Forest from roadless rule protections, despite overwhelming opposition in Alaska and nation-wide. Washington Wild led state-wide efforts to oppose this attack on remaining old growth forests protected by the 2001 Roadless Rule, working with national partners to oppose the implementation of this rollback going forward.
