Washington Wild has joined over 300 tribal, racial justice, environmental, conservation, and other organizations in urging members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to reject the nomination of William Perry Pendley to lead the Bureau of Land Management.

The BLM is the nation’s largest public land agency, charged with managing over a third of America’s public lands and executing myriad environmental laws based on sound science and public input.

William Perry Pendley’s radical anti-conservation positions, unprecedented conflicts of interest, a long history of inflammatory and racist statements, his opposition to environmental justice, and his rejection of diversity and inclusion efforts make him uniquely unsuited to manage over 10,000 employees and impartially decide issues of public interest on behalf of everyone in this country.
