COMPLETED ACTION: Protect our National Forests from Mandated Logging! NO to H.R. 2613

H.R. 2613, also known as the Forests Act of 2017, was introduced in the house this past May by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers [R-WA-5]. This bill would make timber production the dominant use of nearly 50 million acres of national forest land. Our national forests are amazing places that provide opportunities for all Americans to get outdoors, recreate, and relax away from the stress of everyday life. They also act as safeguards for rare, low-elevation forests, habitat for important wildlife, and ensure that areas to recreate in nature will continue to exist for the next generation of Americans. These unique places deserve to be protected and managed for conservation and recreation – not predominantly logging.
