Our Latest Brewshed® Collab Beer: A River Steep and Wide IPA

Posted on Jun 13, 2024 in Brewshed, Conservation News, WA Wild Blog

Brewed in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Additions, A River Steep and Wide is a Double Dry Hopped West Coast IPA brewed with Salmon-Safe Cascade Cryo & Talus hops, generously donated by Yakima Chief Hops, and Salmon-Safe Genie Pale from LINC Malt and Cold Stream Malt. With aromatics of ripe grapefruit, stonefruit, pine, and tangerine, A River Steep and Wide IPA is the perfect beer to pair with all of your wild adventures this summer.

The Alpine Lakes Wilderness was first designated in 1976, with a 22,000-acre addition signed into law by President Obama in 2014. Over a seven-year-long campaign, Washington Wild worked alongside a coalition of conservation advocates and stakeholders and Congressional champions Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Representative Dave Reichert (R-WA08), and Suzan DelBene (D-WA01) to make the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Additions a reality. This expansion extended federal protection to 22,000 acres of low-elevation habitat, a critical resource for wildlife in winter and spring, and designated nearly 40 miles of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie and Pratt Rivers as Wild & Scenic. A River Steep and Wide IPA is a celebration of this incredible landscape.
