Join us in our work to protect Washington’s wild lands and waters!

Washington Wild invites anyone who wants to help protect our wild places to volunteer with us! Volunteering is a great way to learn more about Washington’s wild lands and waters and connect with a community of fellow advocates. Each year, volunteers provide critical support to build Washington Wild’s capacity, offer technical skill sets, and expand our reach ensuring Washington remains wild for all, for generations to come.

What Can Volunteering With WA Wild Look Like?

  • Tabling at Outreach Events – Join us at farmers markets, festivals, and other community events to connect with fellow Washingtonians and share what WA Wild is all about. You’ll help answer questions, inspire others with your passion for protecting wild places, and encourage people to take meaningful action—whether it’s supporting a specific campaign, signing up for our email list, or following us on social media.
  • Brewshed® Events – Join us at taprooms across the state during events hosted by our Brewshed® Alliance Members. Help build community while supporting WA Wild by assisting with event check-in, selling raffle tickets, staffing our outreach table, and connecting with fellow beer lovers who care about protecting Washington’s wild lands and waters.
  • Office Support – Support our team behind the scenes. Lend a hand with writing and sending thank-you notes, entering data, conducting research, and helping organize materials for our programs.
  • Wild Night Out – Support our annual fundraising celebration by assisting with event logistics—including setup and teardown, guest check-in, running the live auction, and providing general event support. Wild Night Out typically takes place in Seattle in late September or early October.

To get started, sign up for our volunteer email list and let us know which areas interest you the most!

WA Wild Volunteer Code of Conduct

COMMITMENT AND DEPENDABILITY
Washington Wild staff depend on volunteers to honor their commitments to the organization. If at any time a volunteer feels it is not possible to complete such a task or deadline, Washington Wild asks that the volunteer communicate this with the lead staff or volunteer as soon as possible.

ATTENDANCE
Lateness or absenteeism results in inconvenience and reduction of production for the organization. Chronic absenteeism may result in reassignment to a volunteer activity not requiring regular attendance and may result in eventual termination of the volunteer.

ALCOHOL/DRUG USE
Working under the influence of alcohol or drugs may interfere with the ability to carry out volunteer responsibilities. Therefore, performing volunteer duties while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited. As such, at Brewshed® events, we ask that volunteers wait until their volunteer shift is over before enjoying a complimentary drink.

NON-DISCRIMINATION
Washington Wild will neither practice nor tolerate discrimination or harassment against any staff, volunteer, or community member on the grounds of race, creed, color, place of origin, ethnic origin, ancestry, citizenship, political or religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family relationship, HIV status, economic status, identity, disability or record of offenses. We will treat each other, staff, volunteers, and community partners with dignity, care, and respect.

HAVE FUN & PROTECT OUR WILD PLACES!
The work of Washington Wild staff, board members, and partners is rooted in our shared respect and love for our wild lands and waters, and passion for protecting these essential places for all. We strive to ensure the events and tasks we ask volunteers to help us with reflect those values while making them a fun, rewarding experience.
