As a small (but mighty!) nonprofit organization of only five full-time staff members, our Board of Directors provides invaluable support to the success of our mission.
The purpose of Washington Wild’s Board of Directors is to provide governance for Washington Wild by ensuring all corporate, legal, financial, and mission obligations are met. The Board of Directors is solely responsible for determining policy in the following areas: Human Resources, Finance, and Organizational Operations. The Board of Directors sets long and short-range goals, approves the annual budgets, and is responsible for diversified fund development, and the leadership development of the organization.
Our primary objective is recruiting individuals with fresh ideas, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the organization is able to continue to keep Washington wild and green for generations to come.
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in the following areas:
- Prior experience working with or serving on a nonprofit board preferred
- Accounting or financial management
- Fundraising experience
- Technology skills
- Organizational or board development and governance
- Senior management experience
