Groups Comment on Geothermal Exploration Near Wild Sky Wilderness

Washington Wild and 12 other conservation organizations sent a letter to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, providing comments on the Environmental Assessment for the Skykomish Geothermal Consent to Lease process. The Skykomish Ranger District is studying the potential impact of allowing leasing of subsurface lands for geothermal exploratory drilling on 12,000 acres of land adjacent to the recently designated Wild Sky Wilderness.  Read the Joint Skykomish Geothermal Lease Scoping Comments.
