The Next Administration: What’s in Store for Washington’s Lands & Waters
February 1, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pmFree
Over the next four years our wild lands and waters will be under siege. We expect renewed Congressional attacks on bedrock environmental laws like the Wilderness Act, the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. We also anticipate efforts by the incoming Administration to weaken conservation policies and protections for national parks, forests and wildlife refuges.
Already, on January 3rd, the newly elected U.S. House of Representatives passed a controversial provision changing the way Congress calculates the costs and economic value of federal parks, forests and national wildlife refuges. The provision in essence implies our public lands have no intrinsic or economic value and paves the way for transferring or selling off our public lands to the highest bidder.
Join us on February 1st at Black Raven Brewing Co. for “The Next Adminstration: What’s in Store for Washington’s Wild Lands and Waters.” Our Executive Director, previously Washington Wild’s Conservation Director for 13 years, will discuss what to expect for our state from the new administration and Congress.
Black Raven Brewing will also be hosting a Brewshed Happy Hour and will donate a $1 a pint from 4 – 9. So come join us for a pint and discuss upcoming threats to keeping Washington Wild.
