Fighting for our Roadless Forests

March 14, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Unfortunately, it has become clear that our roadless areas are going to be attacked on a national and local scale. The time has come again to make sure that our representatives in Congress and leaders in the Trump Administration understand the continued local support for roadless areas. Come learn about our Roadless Areas and Forests, how Washington Wild is fighting to protect these important places and what YOU can do to keep Washington Wild!

In 2001 Washington Wild led statewide efforts to establish the National Forest Roadless Area Conservation Rule. Nearly 350 conservation and recreation groups, elected official, local businesses and faith leaders formally supported the nearly two million acres of roadless forests in Washington State.

These special places, like South Quinault Ridge, Dark Divide, Abercrombie Hooknose and Alpine Lakes Adjacent Inventoried Roadless Areas provide pristine old-growth forests, the source of clean and safe drinking water, world class recreational opportunities and critical wildlife habitat. Our Roadless Forests provide protections for the water sources in Washington– the cold, cool headwaters that flow from our peaks.

Our Program will begin at 6:30 pm in the Naked City screening room and Naked City will donate a $1 a pint from 5 – 9 so come join us for a pint and discuss upcoming threats to keeping Washington Wild.
