Earth Day Celebration

April 20 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

In the week leading up to Earth Day, you might spot something strange—a group of people hand trucking, chair wheeling, skateboarding, biking, or even dog sledding kegs from their breweries throughout Seattle to the Latona Pub.

It’s all part of an annual fundraiser to support Washington Wild’s Brewshed® Alliance. Each April, brewers are tasked with getting their kegs from the brewery to the Latona Pub without the use of motorized transportation if they want to be on tap at the pub’s Earth Day celebration event. The Latona Pub has been celebrating Earth Day with keg walks and fundraising events for over ten years. This year, the Latona is teaming up with both the Brewshed® Alliance and Save Our Wild Salmon.

Although the actual reduced impact on the environment is small, the symbolism of these walks is great. Kegs have been delivered by bicycle from as far away as Bellingham, by sailboat from Anacortes, and with hand trucks from all over Seattle. There will be three walks this year—from Georgetown, the Northend, and Ballard—all ending at Green Lake’s Latona Pub.

Join us on Saturday, April 20th for the pub’s Earth Day Celebration benefitting the WA Brewshed® Alliance. All the beer and cider hand-trucked to the pub will be on tap, as well as a live auction and music with Leif Totusek.

A quintessential neighborhood pub, the Latona has long been a gathering place for neighbors to discuss an array of topics and the perfect place to reflect on Earth Day. We hope you will stop by to raise a pint with us!
