DamNation Screening
September 14, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Join us for a movie and a beer during Bellingham Beer Week at Aslan Brewing Company! Together with Aslan Washington Wild is hosting a screening of DamNation, a documentary on how the narrative around dams has changed around the country, including the removal of the Elwha Dam on the Olympic Peninsula- the largest dam removal in US history.
Aslan Brewing Company will be donating 10% of drink sales from 5:30 to 10 PM to Washington Wild in support of a wild and green Washington full of great beer. This event is free, but donations are welcome!
Screening will start at 8 pm with a brief introduction and some fun give aways before and AFTER the show.
THE FILM:
DamNation shows how far things have moved and how quickly, from the assumption 50 years ago that dams were always a power for good, to the first successful attempt to remove a marginal dam 20 years ago on the Kennebec River. The film highlights other dam removal stories, including the Elwha and White Salmon Rivers in Washington, the Rogue River in Oregon, and the Penobscot River in Maine.
