What drew me to Washington Wild was its mission to defend, protect and restore Washington’s wild lands and waters. We are in an unprecedented time for our environment and national politics. And Washington Wild works at the nexus of both. I knew I had to get involved and stay engaged with organizations like Washington Wild who are on the front lines of protecting the lands and rivers that sustain us all.
Over the past 10 years I have worked in the nonprofit sector. My first nonprofit job was as an AmeriCorps Vista at Outdoor Outreach in San Diego. That experience opened my eyes to the healing power of outdoor experiences and outdoor access for young people who had been through some extraordinarily difficult times. I would say those years at Outdoor Outreach set me path. I have worked with Washington Environmental Council and Washington Conservation Voters to elect strong environmental champions into office and pass strong environmental policies and currently, I work at Seattle Parks Foundation where we bring people together from our local community to make parks available and accessible to all.
I am most excited about being a part of a strong, passionate and knowledgeable team of staff and board members leading this work. I know I will be learning a lot and am excited to roll up my sleeves and support this work however I can.
