An all out war on our public lands has already begun. On their FIRST day the newly elected U.S. House of Representatives passed a controversial provision (H.R. 5) devaluing our federal parks, forests and national wildlife refuges. Furthermore, several amendments associated with a rarely used Congressional Review Act (CRA) were introduced to repeal existing conservation regulations.

It can be daunting to keep up with all of the legislation being introduced, so we’ve made it easy with our 2017 Guide to Legislative Threats! See the table below for a list of bills and where they currently stand in Washington, D.C.

Learn more about the current threats to Washington’s Public Lands and take action by writing your representatives. It’s simple and public lands are public issues. Use your voice and stand up for our public lands by taking action on these vital issues.

While this bill has already been signed into law, take a moment to write your representatives and urge them to stand up to threats like these as they continue to arise and to support America’s public lands.

Due to overwhelming opposition from conservationists, recreationists, and sportsmen Representative Chaffetz, the bill sponsor, has said he will withdraw this bill. Nice work to everyone who helped make this possible!
