Diverse Stakeholders Push Back on Army Helicopter Training Proposal

Nearly 70 conservation, recreation and wildlife organizations and local businesses signed a letter raising concerns about an Army proposal to shift existing training activities from Colorado to Washington State. The proposal would create four new helicopter training areas on national forest land in the North Cascades and in southwest Washington on the doorstep of Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Washington Wild led the diverse coalition of stakeholders and coordinated the comment letter. Read the comment letter.
