Crafting the 2025 WA Brewshed® Collaboration, Public Lands Pub Ale

Each year, Washington’s craft beer community partners with Washington Wild to brew a beer with a message. From 2022’s Save the Snake River Lager to 2023’s Clean Water for Great Beer IPA and last year’s Forestalgia American Lager, these collaborations showcase the industry’s ongoing commitment to protecting our wild lands and waters.

This year’s release, Public Lands Pub Ale brewed by Bizarre Brewing Co., was inspired by the resilient Big Leaf Maple, a tree native to WA State and rooted in many of the places that WA Wild works to protect. Its story began with a trip to the Glacier Peak Roadless Area in the Mt. Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest.

The rich, natural sweetness of Neil’s Bigleaf Maple Syrup from Acme, WA compliments the malt-forward pub ale that offers bold orange zest character and notes of herbal tea and freshly baked crumpets. All of the ingredients were generously donated by Roy Farms Hops, Cold Stream Malt & Grain, and Linc Malt, and the beer proudly carries the Salmon-Safe certification!

A powerful collaboration among 85 Washington breweries and beer industry partners, Public Lands Pub Ale is brewed in defense of our public lands—the forests, rivers, and mountains that provide clean brewing water, sustain healthy ecosystems, and offer boundless opportunities for outdoor recreation. Together with Washington Wild and the WA Brewshed® Alliance, we’re raising a glass to celebrate and protect these shared treasures. Every sip supports the fight against threats like public land sell-offs, policy rollbacks, and funding cuts—helping to keep Washington’s wildlands and waterways healthy for generations to come.
