COMPLETED ACTION: Senate Passes Legislation Allowing Drilling in the Arctic Refuge
Today, the Senate passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 with a vote of 51-49. The bill includes an amendment that would open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling for the first time in history. Members of the Senate tried to protect the Arctic Refuge with an Amendment to strike the Arctic Refuge rider from the tax bill, but were unsuccessful with a vote of 52-48.
