15 Groups Send Letter to Secretary Zinke Opposing National Park Fee Increase
Today, Washington Wild joined 14 other conservation and recreation organizations on a letter to the Department of Interior Secretary, Ryan Zinke, opposing the current proposal to drastically increase entry fees for the nation’s most popular National Parks. The letter expressed concern that this proposed plan would have negative impacts on rural gateway communities who depend on peak season tourist spending, disproportionately affect low income communities, and would not address the National Park maintenance backlog.
After overwhelming public interest in the issue the National Park Service has extended the deadline to comment until December 22, 2017. You can still make your voice heard and take action today!
